Anurag Thakur, former BCCI president, has apologized to the Supreme Court on the initiation of contempt proceedings against him. He has rendered an unqualified and unconditional apology in that matter. Supreme Court is likely to hear the contempt proceedings on April 17 in which the former BCCI official has exempted Mr. Thakur from personal presence. In another case relating to perjury charges against Thakur and apology has been already rendered thereto. In an affidavit filed on Feb 2010 through his lawyer, Shri Anurag Thakur wrote, ‘I humbly submit that this was never the intention of the deponent and if this is the impression that has been created, at the outset I tender my unconditional and unequivocal apology’.
