A gang of thief on Holi day looted four shops in MIDC and Wadi areas and run away with goods including mobile handsets, electronics and other valuables worth lakhs.
In the first incident, Balaji Nagar-based Trupti Enterprises of Pravin Mundhada, resident of Lokmanya Nagar, was targeted. The burglars stole the mobile handsets of different brands worth Rs 2 lakh. At the same time, the thiefs gained entry into an adjoining shop run by Ajit Choudhary (30) by bending shutters. From this shop also mobile handsets of various brands worth Rs lakh were stolen. The thefts took place in MIDC police jurisdiction.
Another shop Balaji Electronics in Tawakkal Layout, Wadi, run by Sanjay Singh Rathod, was broke by four car-borne goons, The goons smashed shutters of the shop and stole away electronics goods worth Rs 5.35 lakh. An adjoining mobile shop Harsh Mobiles of Ravi Jaisinghani was also targeted by the miscreants. Cell phones, accessories and some cash were stolen.
